I keep getting this code on my 2016 chevy silverado 5.3L v8. Ive also had a cylinder 8 misfire code and multiple cylinder misfire code as well. I changed the sparkplugs, got both codes again after a few months. ran fuel cleaner, intake cleaner. Moved my ignition coil from cylinder 8 to 6 but haven’t gotten the cylinder 8 or misfire code again for 2 months but p050d keeps coming up.
Nathan. I commend you for moving the coil to 6 to see if the misfire moved. This code however, is for something deeper. There is a certain coolant leak that develops in this motor under the intake. It is common and what happens is the cylinder head gets pitted, and develops coolant leaks between the cylinder head and the intake. Unfortunately, it can be costly as either the cylinder head or the motor will need replaced to correct this code, and rough cold idle. I would talk to your dealership if it is still under warranty and see what they can do for you.
