- Trouble codes are displayed by LED in engine control module (ECM)
Accessing Trouble Codes
- Access engine control module (ECM):
- Civic/CRX and Prelude (B20A5) Image 1
- Accord Image 2
- Prelude (BT/A20A3) Image 3
- Switch ignition ON.
- Check ECM LED is flashing.
- Multiple codes are separated by a 2 second pause
- Switch ignition OFF
Clearing Trouble Codes
- After the faults have been rectified, erase the trouble codes as follows:
- Ensure ignition switched OFF
- Prelude 2.0L (BT) – disconnect battery ground cable for 10 seconds minimum
- Civic/CRX – remove fuse No.34 (10A) from underhood fusebox for 10 seconds minimum
- Accord (2.0L) – remove fuse No.11 (10A) from underhood fusebox for 10 seconds minimum
- Prelude 2.0L (A20A3) – remove fuse No.10 (10A) from underhood fusebox for 10 seconds minimum
- Prelude 2.0L (B20A5) – remove fuse No..35 (10A) from underhood fusebox for 10 seconds minimum
- Reinstall fuse
- Repeat accessing procedure to ensure no data remains in ECM fault memory
