What kind of obd reader/scanner tool is required so that I will be able to see codes from ecm ? I have a 95 3.4l camaro vin S with a aldl connection that has the following pins – 2,4,5,6,8,9 and 16.

OK, as far as I can tell, that’s not an ALDL connector. ALDL was 5, 10, or 12 pins, but you’re describing a 16-pin OBD connector. It looks like a modern OBD2 connector but requires a GM OBD1 scanner. Some forums say Scanmaster is a good tool for this, but that’s a permanent installation. If you can find a scanner compatible with GM OBD1, I think you can jump OBD1 Pin A to OBD2 Pin 5 and OBD1 Pin M to OBD2 Pin 9 to get a data feed.
