General information

Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) will illuminate or flash if certain faults are recorded .
ECM operates in backup mode if sensors fail, to enable vehicle to be driven to repair shop.
Trouble codes can be displayed by the MIL or by using a Scan Tool connected to the data link connector (DLC).

Accessing

Flash codes

Within 5 seconds switch the ignition key ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON.
Count MIL flashes. Note trouble codes.
Each trouble code consists of two groups 1 [A].
The first group of flashes indicate the ‘tens’ of the trouble code.
The second group of flashes indicate the ‘units’ of the trouble code.
A short pause separates ‘tens’ and ‘units’ 1 [B].
A long pause separates each trouble code 1 [C].
For example: Trouble code 21 displayed 1
End of test sequence indicated by trouble code 55.
