To get a trouble code out of the ECM, it is necessary to plug a spare fuse into the position for that purpose located in the fuse box.

NOTE: Federal equipped vehicles have a cancel switch which needs to be reset after the 50,000, 80,000, and 100,000 mile maintenance service is completed. At mileage intervals of 50,000, 80,000 and 100,000 miles, the Check Engine lamp will be illuminated indicating required service and maintenance is to be performed. After performing the required service, the lamp may be reset by moving the slider switch located behind the access panel, directly below the steering column. |
